Foto: Linda Brouwers geeft haar pitch   Tijdens de NGO briefing voor de 70ste VN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) presenteerden diverse experts hun pitches met aanbevelingen aan de delegatie. De bijeenkomst vond plaats op het ministerie van OCW (onderwijs, cultuur en wetenschap) op 28 januari 2026. Alle 4 de pitches staan hier (in het Nederlands of Engels) op deze CSW blogpagina. De tweede pitch werd gegeven door Linda Brouwers namens de Unie van Soroptimistclubs . Als lid  van de CSW70 delegatie van Soroptimist International of Europa gaat Linda in maart 2026 naar New York. Het thema van de komende CSW is 'access to justice' en het Verdrag van Istanbul is hierbij een belangrijk instrument voor ons in Nederland. Linda is een van de vertegenwoordigers uit het maatschappelijk middenveld in Nederland die de komende week naar Geneve reizen voor de constructieve dialoog van het CEDAW Comite met Nederland. Het belang van CEDAW voor het bereiken van ‘access to justice’  Nederland heeft zich met de ratificatie van het VN-Vrouwenverdrag (CEDAW) verplicht tot het actief bevorderen van gendergelijkheid en het tegengaan van discriminatie van vrouwen. Over two days, March 12 and 13, 2025, artists, activists, and allies transformed the space into dynamic real-life canvases of empowerment, solidarity, and cultural and political resistance.   In the main space of the Blue Gallery participants engaged with various stations, including Button Making , Journaling with Art , Drawing , and Protest Sign Making . In 1995, feminist activists gathered in Beijing for the Fourth World Conference on Women, creating transformative frameworks that led to significant global changes. However, feminist movements now face coordinated attacks by anti-rights forces. On March 10th at CSW69, the Alliance for Feminist Movements, Count Me In! Consortium, and Women Deliver co-hosted an event to discuss the evolution and future of feminist funding. In 1995, feminist activists and allies gathered in Beijing for the Fourth World Conference on Women, leaving with multidimensional political and narrative frameworks, language, and strategies that would not only support transformative change – for example, the institutionalisation of the term gender, the liberalisation of abortion laws in over 60 countries , and the international recognition of rape as a war crime – but also build a dynamic feminist funding ecosystem.
